No. Hypnosis does not mean giving up control. You remain aware and able to communicate and make decisions. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative experience and you are an active participant throughout the session.

Hypnosis is generally considered safe when practiced appropriately. You remain aware and in control throughout the session. You can stop at any time. You cannot become permanently “stuck” in hypnosis. Before we begin, we will discuss the process and any questions or concerns that you may have so you know exactly what to expect.

People vary in how they experience and respond to hypnosis. Most people can engage with hypnotic techniques to some degree and the experience may feel different from person to person.

The experience is a little different for each individual. You may feel deeply relaxed, focused, calm, or simply more absorbed in your inner experience. Some people notice very little difference at first. There is no single “right” way to feel during hypnosis.
